From editor or global species database
Synonymy San Martín & Hutchings (2006: 276) suggested the synonymy between Eudontosyllis aciculata Knox, 1960 and Eusyllis assimilis Marenzeller, 1875, but were unable to revise the type material of the former species. Considering that the synonymy was only suggested, based solely in the original description, and that it is unlikely that a Mediterranean species occurs in the Southern Pacific Ocean, E. aciculata is considered here as a valid species, until further information becomes available.
