Editor's comment Although it cannot be excluded that a temperate/subtropical taxon as Salmacina dysteri (Huxley, 1855) should occur in tropical conditions, on biogeographical grounds it is very unlikely. Compare Ben-Eliahu & ten Hove (2011 Fig. 23) for differences between material from adjacent biogeographical areas. The finds from Mexico and South Africa probably even belong to different taxa.
