Type locality Authors state the specimen locality is the Challenger Plateau, but the location is inshore on the margin of the plateau, and better described as offshore of West Coast South Island, -43.4192, 167.8358 E, Tasman Sea, (43 25.15'S, 167 50.15' E); 1523–1526 m.
