New combination This new combination was first established by Hutchings and Glasby (1986: 114): "Our interpretation of the origin of the branchiae [from the anterior margin of segment two], which differs from Fauchald's, and the arrangement of anterior segments places the animal in the genus Thelepus. It does not belong to Euthelepus as no lateral lobes are present". Later Londoño-Mesa (2009) supported this decision based on the presence of lateral lappets in Euthelepus, against its absence in Thelepus. [details]
