Taxonomy The usage of Delgado-Blas (2006:79)as Scolelepis (S.) acuta was as a new combination. This is because, although the species was long known as a member of Scolelepis, previously it has either been reported in Nerinides (= Scolelepis) (as by Hartman, 1936), or later regarded as a synonym of Scolelepis squamata (as by Pettibone, 1963, Foster, 1971) [details]
