Distribution Australia: around Lizard Island, North Direction Island, and Yonge Reef (Great Barrier Reef, Queensland). Known only from the Lizard Island region. [details]
Etymology The specific epithet papillatus is a Latin adjective meaning 'having nipples or buds', and refers to the highly papillated ventral pads of the species. [details]
Habitat Coral rubble and among Halimeda, intertidal to subtidal depths. [details]
