Taxonomy Acknowledging that Gunnerus named both the worm (Hydroides norvegica) and the secreted calcareous tube (Serpula norvegica) as species norvegica. As Hydroides norvegica is the animal name, and tubes do not have a separated name, a usage of 'norvegica' in Serpula can be treated as a recombination, although used in the same work as the original name).
