Holotype based on a posterior fragment. Okuda wrote "present new species is represented by a single posterior body with 7 last setigerous segments and a pygidium. So far as examined by this scanty material the present specimen may well be referable to Scyphoproctus" [details]
Status Scyphoproctus gravieri is incompletely known as it was described from a posterior fragment (present location of the specimen in a collection unknown). Da Silva & Amaral (2019: 96) state: "this species should be classified as species inquirenda until new collections and formal description of a complete specimen from the type locality become available". [details]
