The present study deals with the Taxonomical identification of Marine sponges found during bycatch in the Gulf of Mannar region. The new and extended records of the reported sponge species, Stylissa massa, Haliclona (Gellius) cymaeformis and Callyspongia clathrata. Details about the sponge collection, Taxonomical identification are discussed and presented.
