Lectotype LMJG 15705, geounit Adriatic Sea [details]
From editor or global species database
Lectotype Kelly-Borges & Bergquist (1994) omit to discuss the status of the Schmidt material of this species in the Graz Museum (LMJG 15705), whereas Desqueyroux-Faúndez & Stone (1992) depict the specimen (see their Plate IV fig. 22). Schmidt (1864) does not mention the existence of more than a single specimen, so it is likely that the Graz and London material are fragments of the same specimen, which then would be the holotype. Since there is no locality mentioned on the Graz label, there is uncertainty over this issue and thus the lectotype designation remains valid. [details]
Type locality Kelly-Borges & Bergquist (1994) erroneously cite Algeria as the type locality, but this is the island of Lagosta (or Lagoste) in Croatia. [details]
