Spelling The original spelling Baeriida Borojevic et al. 2000 was changed to Baerida (single 'i') by Manuel et al. (2002) and Borojevic et al. (2002) (both in Systema Porifera vol. 2) without explanation. Although ordinal names are not regulated by the Code, it appears logical to use the first coined spelling as valid. Hence the name of the present order is Baeriida, in contrast to the spelling in the Systema Porifera. [details]
