Type material The type locality is 'West Africa', a vast area, and the whereabouts of the type collected by a collector named Allen, is unknown, at least it is not in the BMNH online specimen catalogue. A second locality mentioned by Von Lendenfeld is Mauritius in the Indian Ocean, the specimen of which is said to be in the Canterbury Museum, New Zealand. Burton's (1956) Atlantide material, non-type, is present in the Natural History Museum, London, reg.nr. BMNH 1948.3.8.80, and presumably also in the Copenhagen Museum. [details]
