Taxonomy This is a replacement name for Craniella schmidtii Sollas, 1888 which Lendenfeld assumed to be a homonym of Tethea schmidtii Bowerbank, 1866. Since the latter is a Stelletta (j.syn. of Stelletta grubei), there is no basis for the replacement name and accordingly T. oscari is considered a j.syn. of Craniella schmidtii. [details]
