From editor or global species database
New combination The authors cite authorship for their subspecies(?) as Dendy, 1887, but in that study there is no variety margaritifera (Suberites inconstans varieties described in Dendy's 1887 paper are var. globosa, var. maeandrina, and var. digitata). Possibly, the var. maeandrina was meant to be the identity for the Sivaleela material, but in Dendy, 1905 there is a species Cliona margaritiferae, which may have been confused with var. maeandrina for the present material. In any case, this is not a recognizable record. [details]
