Taxonomy In the trees (COI, 28S, 18S) of Díaz et al. (2025), Cymbastella species group with high support in the Bubarida; including the type species of the genus (C. stipitata) in the 28S tree. The problem is that Bubaridae and Dictyonellidae fairly overlap in all phylogenetic trees. So instead of adding more confusion, it was proposed to move Cymbastela to a Bubarida incertae sedis group. Cymbastella corraliophila however should be eventually moved to the order Vilesdida (cf. Díaz et al., 2025) but since we have no clear genus to welcome C. corraliophila yet, it is left here temporarily with the rest of the Cymbastella. [details]
