Taxonomy This genus was erected by Gray (1870) for Tethea (sic) polyura (Schmidt, 1870 as Craniella) which according to Gray was misplaced and belonged not to Tethea but to a new genus. At the same time he replaced the species name polyura with the name schmidtii for no apparent reason. [details]
