Distribution Described as a special form occurring mangroves of Florida, Panama and Belize. [details]Identification The status of the forma mangle Duran & Rützler, 2006 (and its probable synonym or misprint forma manglaris Rützler et al. 2007) as possible members of the species-group is unclear. Formae or varieties are only regulated by the ICZN articles if they have been proposed prior to 1961 (art. 45). In the present case this condition is not fulfilled and thus the names mangle, manglaris and also hermatypica (q.v.) are unavailable nomenclaturally (but may serve to distinguish specimens in the field).
