This is the the Coastal Wiki Marine Species Traits vocabulary. It is still in an early experimental phase. All terms and their definitions have yet to be stabilized.

As part of the EMODnet project (http://bio.emodnet.eu/), a standardised species attributes vocabulary is being developed so that selected European marine species can be tagged with relevant attributes information and be made available through the World Register of Marine Species (WoRMS) and the EMODnet biological portal.

Add a new Marine Species Concept

A concept can by any trait which is connected to other traits in an hierarchical manner. To create a new marine species concept type "Traits:" followed by the name of the concept. When typing in the name of an existing concept the autocomplete will list existing pages. For instructions on using the form see here.

Add a new Marine Species Collection

A collection combines all concepts of a given section. To create a new marine species collection type "Traits:" followed by the name of the collection. For instructions on using the form see here.

The following collections already exist: Biological Descriptors, Distribution Descriptors, Ecological Descriptors, Species Importance To Society
