Description (From the Duncan’s article) Massive cerioid to plocoid corallum with cylindrical corallites. Peritheca granulated and costate. costae non confluent. Distal edge finely dentate, columella absent. [details]Remark Melnikova (1968) observed a large population and dedicated an article to the genus and completed the diagnosis on several points. She noticed the occurrence of a spongy axial formation, more or less well developed ; the extracalicinal gemmation ; the endotheca consisting of tabulae set horizontally or or sloping slightly from the periphery toward the center ; the structure of septa made of simple isolated but close-set trabeculae, sloping at various angles to the wall and thickened by stereoplasm. A comparison with the type material preserved in Bath is still necessary to confirm the validity of the genus. [details]
