Comparison Mycetaraea is very close of Dermoseris and has anteriority. Mycetaraea can be kept at least (see Geyer 1954, p. 169) as a morphogenus name useful to designate the special astogenic stage intermediate between solitary (Trocharaea) and fully developed phaceloid (Dermoseris). [details]

Diagnosis Thamnasterioid to phaceloid corallum with few cylindrical corallites. Epitheca present. Microsolenid radial elements. Synapticules present. Central fossa. [details]

Remark See Errenst 1991, p.27 for a recent description and figure. [details]
