Description Phaceloid corallum with subparallel, subcylindrical corallites reaching different heights. Thick plicate epitheca covering up to the calicular edge. External surface of corallite weakly folded, without rufles. Subcircular calices, occasionally flattened by the simple intracalicular increase. Calices infundibuliform more or less deep. Calicular edge cutting or weakly rounded. Radial elements are thin compact (?) rarely visible on the syntype, as dissepiments, synapticules and axial zone. [details]

Comparison Beauvais distinguished her genus from Calamophylliopsis by the absence of rufles, from Cladophyllia by the weak parietal spongy columella. [details]Description Phaceloid corallum with subparallel, subcylindrical corallites reaching different heights. Thick plicate epitheca covering up to the calicular edge. External surface of corallite weakly folded, without rufles. Subcircular calices, occasionally flattened by the simple intracalicular increase. Calices infundibuliform more or less deep. Remark The genus is known by two nominal species. No thin section is figured. The description of the type-species by Beauvais 1970 is overinterpreted. The other species C alternicosta from the Bathonian of Saint-Gaultier is clearly costulate, cannot belong to the same genus and could be a Rhabdophyllia. [details]
