Remark Rotorbinella skourensis was originally described by Pfender from Maroccan beds that are dated as Paleocene by indirect, sedimentological arguments. The same shells have appeared also in the first fossiliferous beds of the Salt Range section at Dhak Pass, northern Pakistan. Their occurrence in the Hangu Formation confirms the Paleocene age that was attributed so far to this species. They also occur in the Himalayan Paleocene. Rotorbinella skourensis differs from R. hensoni by its higher ventral convexity supported by a single thickening on each foliar wall (foliar pile). The dorsal chamber septa are arcuate and strongly bent backwards. [details]
