Ecology Known only from its type locality. It is abundant in Sulphidic Lake, but rare in the freshwater lakes (where it co-occurs with N. jovanovici, N. lindbergi, and Bogidiella sp.). [details]

Etymology The name is derived from the name of amphipod genus Gammarus and refers to its Gammarus-like traits, notably its biramous 3rd uropods. [details]

Holotype An intact male. The sample is deposited in the collection of the Department of Biology, Biotechnical Faculty, University of Ljubljana under voucher number NC341 (OBBFUL-NC341). [details]
