Spelling Clench & Aguayo (1949) knew that the genus name Cerion was neuter, as they introduced the name Cerion banesense in the same work as C. geophilus. They did not indicate that "geophilus" was an adjective, so it must be taken as a noun, with invariant ending (ICZN Article 31.2.2). [details]
