From editor or global species database
Spelling Lygdamis murata is an incorrect spelling as Lygdamis is a masculine genus (male name), and the adjective muratus a um (meaning surrounded by walls) must be as 'muratus'. It appears that only Day (1967: 677) and also Hayward & Ryland (1990: 271) has used 'Lygdamis murata', with Day's usage only in the context of subspecies L. muratus gilchristi. However, the misspelling appears in downstream databases from WoRMS. [details]
