Taxonomy It is likely that this species is related to the genus Spirometra. However, it was only briefly described by Leuckart (1848), using material from an imported “leopard” (probably Panthera pardus) of unknown origin. It is therefore not possible to identify this species. Due to this incomplete description, this species is considered a species inquirenda. [details]
