Etymology authors: Melinna hamulus is "named hamulus meaning little hook in Latin, a reference to the small dorsal hooks of this new species." Editor comment: Melinna is a feminine genus, thus requires adjectival agreement which in this case would be the adjective hamata from 'hamatus a um' meaning furnished with a hook. The authors have used the noun 'hamulus' instead. Thus 'hamulus' must be a noun in apposition and unchanging with genus gender. [details]
