A new hemiurid trematode belonging to sub family Halipeginae Ejsmont 1931, including a new genus Caudovitellaria and a new species C. lobata is reported and described here from the intestine of marine fish Therapon jarbua. The present genus is distinguished from two related genera of the subfamily on the basis of combination of diagnostic features such as small, flattened body, attenuated anteriorly and posteriorly, widest at testicular level, subterminal, small, oral sucker, small rounded pharynx, no oesophagus, caeca long, acetabullum pre-equatorial, large, testes two, unequal postacetabular, lateral, one on each side of the body, seminal vesicle preacetabular, pars prostatica long, hermarphroditic pouch present, genital opening at the base of pharynx. Ovary and vitellaria at the posterior extremity, Vitellaria in two, 3 and 4-lobed masses. Uterus long, extending between ovary and hermaphrodic pouch. Excretary vesicle is tubular.
