A new species Microcotyle jonii is described here from the gills of the fish Lutjanus jonii of Karachi coast. Body is elongated, flattened, divided into anterior and middle small and narrow portions while posterior portions are long and wide, mouth is ventroterminal. Two oral suckers present. Intestinal crura extend to haptor. Genital atrium fork like. Testes are fifteen in number, situated in the posterior half of the body. Ovary is tubular, pretesticular. Haptor is long and irregular. Clamps are numerous arranged in two rows.
