Etymology Marphysa merchangensis is named for the Merchang estuary, the type locality where the specimens were collected. [details]
Habitat Found burrowing in decayed roots of the mangrove Exoecaria agallocha (Malay: Bebuta), and burrowing in the sediments within an area populated with the coastal tree Talipariti tiliaceum with salinity 26‰ during spring low tide. [details]
