Taxonomic remark Genus was synonymized by Laurin (1997) under the fossil genera Eohemithyris. Later this was found to be erroneous and the genus Basiliolella was resurrected in 2002 (per Treatise on Invertebrate Paleontology. Part H. Brachiopoda Revised. Volume 4), but some authors still used Eohemithyris for several years thereafter. Currently Eohemithyris only contains fossil taxa and is not listed on WoRMS. [details]
