Numerous Paleocene shallowest-shallow limestones collected from the various localities of Turkey yielded seven new benthic foraminiferal genera. Namely, Haymanina (type species Haymanina danica n.gen. n.sp.), Elazigina (type species Kathina subsphaerica Sirel), Pseudodictyokathina (type species Dictyokathina vanica Sirel) and Postorbitokathina (type species Orbitokathina sarayi Sirel, Gündüz & Acar) in the family Rotaliidae Ehrenberg, Carterella [type species Alveolina meandrina (Carter)] in Miscellaneidae Sigal, Kartalina (type species Kartalina kayabasiensis n.gen. n.sp.) in the family Miliolidae Ehrenberg and Postbroeckinella (type species Postbroeckinella flabelliformis n.gen. n.sp.) in the family Spirocyclinidae Munier-Chalmas are erected. The stratigraphy of the type localities of the new genera are briefly discussed. In addition, the stratigraphic distribution of the Paleocene and some Maastrichtian, early Ilerdian foraminiferal species are introduced in the shallow benthic zones (SBZ) and in the very shallow/shallow environments.
