Homonymy Jouin (1992) later believed Astomus was a homonym, and replaced it with Parenterodrilus, but it is not. Astomus in Agassiz's Nomenclatoris Zoologici listing (p.38 in the Index Universalis) is simply one of Agassiz's many alternate spellings mentioned, and it is not clear in this case if his intention was introduction of a new spelling.
