Etymology Not stated. The specific epithet jubata is a Latin adjective, feminine of jubatus and meaning 'crested' or 'having a crest', and presumably refers to the ciliated dorsal organ present over chaetigers 5-8. [details]
Habitat Found in shells of Haliotis iris Gmelin, 1791 and Ostrea lutaria Hutton, 1873, collected on sandy bottoms between 3-10 m depth. [details]
