Etymology The specific epithet extensus, meaning 'extended' or 'continued', is the perfect passive participle of the Latin verb extendo, and refers to the wide variety of habitats in which the species occurs. [details]
Habitat In reefy areas, under rocks and boulders or in crevices, amongst weed, algae and sponges, and on soft sediments associated with the seagrasses Zostera, Posidonia, and in front of mangrove zone. Salinity 30-35‰. [details]
