Etymology Not stated. The specific epithet brevibranchiata is composed by the Latin prefix brevi-, meaning 'short', and the New Latin adjective branchiata, meaning 'having branchiae', and refers presumably to the presence of short triangular ("kurz dreieckig") branchiae on the species. [details]
