Etymology Not stated. The specific epithet arenincola (a lapsus calami of arenicola?), is the feminine of the Latin adjective arenicolus, meaning 'sand-dwelling', and refers presumably to the habitat of the species, described as living in ''shallow, sandy pools'' (Hartman, 1936: 51). [details]
