Etymology The specific epithet magdalena refers to "the habitat of one of the specimens, viz. that west of the Island Magdalena in the Archipiélago de los Chonos" (Wesenberg-Lund, 1962). [details]
Habitat Intertidal, on exposed rocks and boulders, with rock pools, sometimes with coarse sand. [details]
Taxonomy Moved to genus Typosyllis by Licher (1999) but considered nowadays to belong to Syllis. [details]
Type locality Archipiélago de los Chonos, Canal Moraleda, Cayo Blanco, Chile, SE Pacific Ocean (-44.8056°, -73.5833°). [details]
