Nomenclature Based on strict priority, Huber (2010) restored the name Mytella bicolor as a senior synonym of M. guyanensis. However, the name guyanensis had been universally used as the valid name, whereas there are only a handful of references that use the name bicolor based on Huber's authority. For stability, the name guyanensis should be conserved, either through application of ICZN Art. 23.9 or through petition to the ICZN. [details]
