Taxonomic remark Steele (1969), studied the type specimen of Anonyx punctatus Bate 1862. (BMNH No. 68: 107(14). Bering Strait, W. Stimpson coll., 1 specimen) and transferred it to the genus Onisimus, suggesting it was a nomen dubium since the genus to which the species belongs was in need of revision. [details]
Taxonomic remark The use of the name ‘Spence Bate’ instead of ‘Bate’ is discussed herein. See page 201. [details]
