Identification Hormiphora sibogae differs from the other Hormiphores by the small tentacular bases curved concavely to the stomach, the short sheaths, bluntly truncated at the aboral end, very wide sheath openings, and the large liver. Furthermore, it differs from Hormiphora palmata and spatulata by the shortness of the ribs and meridional vessels, from the former, as well as from Hormiphora plumosa and ochracea, by the entry point of the adradial into the meridional vessels lying obliquely above the funnel, and from Hormiphora fusiformis by the broad ribs.
