Etymology The specific epithet brevitori is composed by the Latin adjective brevis, meaning 'short' or 'narrow' and the Latin noun tori, plural of torus, the welt- or ridge-like parapodial ramus of the polychaetes, often with hooks or uncini, and refers to the narrow width of the neuropodial tori along the body of the species.
