Description This medusa is likely Leuckartiara octonema, although it differs from the type specimen in having only one small bulb between tentacle pairs and it has an ocellus The differences are here interpreted as intraspecific or age-related differences. The identification as L . octonema and the distinction from the very simialr L. octona is primarly based on the characteristic red pigment on the abaxial side of the tentacle bulbs [comment P.
