Taxonomic remark Haswell (1893) introduces the name in the Proceedings of the Linnean Society of NSW; "Jottings from the Biological Laboratory of Sydney University", and describes it in full detail in his contribution to the Macleay Memorial Volume (1893) of the same journal. The first is from March 1893, the second from September 1893, so the first is to be considered the original description reference. However, in the first contribution Haswell only introduces the genus, and does not refer to a species. This is corrected in an appendix (corrigendum) to the volume in which the second contribution appeared. In the same Corrigendum Haswell introduces the name Actinodactylella because of the homonymy, but makes a mistake to state that the junior homonym is Actinodactylus Duchassaing, 1890 (Tunicata). [details]
