Nomenclature Luther (1955: p. 273) mensions J. millportiana as a synonym of Castrella truncata. The name Jensenia millportiana was, however, never officially used. Graf (1904–1908) mentions that Dalyellia millportiana possibly could belong to Jensenia (following Fuhrmann's suggestion that Vortex millportianus could belong to Castrella, a genus considered synonymous with Jensenia by Graff), but he actually did not transfer the species to Jensenia (as Fuhrmann never actually transferred the species to Castrella).
