Editor's comment Was as alternate representation to its nominal subspecies, but a nominal species remains a valid potential usage, regardless of its subspecies, and it is not necessary to make it an 'alternate representation' to its nominal subspecies [G. Read] [details]
Spelling Original spelling as Onchnesoma stenstrupii but subsequent authors have corrected the species name to 'steenstrupii' without comment, except that Stephen & Edmonds, 1972 did note the 'stenstrupii' spelling. Presumably taxonomists considered 'stenstrupii' was an obvious lapsus calami of the name of Japetus Steenstrup (1813 – 1897), a well known Danish biologist, and thus correctable (Article 32.5). There are ~90 marine organisms named after Steenstrup, mostly in the 19th century. [details]Unverified
