WoRCS in the 14th ICZEGAR Congress (Thessaloniki, Greece)

The WoRCS initiative was presented in the 14th International on the Zoogeography and Ecology of Greece and Adjacent Regions (ICZEGAR) in Thessaloniki, Greece (27-30 June 2019)
The 14th International Congress on the Zoogeography and Ecology of Greece and Adjacent Regions (ICZEGAR) was organized by the School of Biology of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh) in Thessaloniki, Greece. The scope of ICZEGAR Congress includes all thematic areas related to systematic, phylogeny, biogeography, ecology, evolution, and conservation of animal biodiversity (terrestrial, subterranean, freshwater and marine) within a geographical region covering the Balkan and Italian peninsulas, Asia Minor and Anatolia, as well as the Mediterranean coasts of Africa. The 14th ICZEGAR Congress was attended by more than 180 participants from over 30 countries worldwide.

A case study of the WoRCS initiative, entitled “Cataloguing sponge diversity from Atlantic marine caves and comparison with relevant data from the Mediterranean Sea” was presented in the 14th ICZEGAR Congress by Eva Daskalaki and Vasilis Gerovasileiou:
