Authority Authority given as Deichmann, 1930 in Cherbonnier (1988) and others: Deichmann (1930) thought that the name Pseudocolochirus was only proposed by Pearson in an unpublished letter to Mortesen; she therefore re-erected and rediagnosed the genus (Thandar, 1991).
Type species: Colochirus violaceus Théel, 1886 by monotypy (Rowe & Gates, 1995). [details]
