Description Based on one small specimen. Branchiae present chaetiger 8-21 (of 79), 1-2 filaments (mostly 1), no distinct branchial shaft, longest longer than notopodial cirri. Ceratostyles articulated. Yellow tridentate sub-acicular hooks from c.18, which are paired (a characteristic fide Fauchald, 1992) [details]

Publication date Fauchald (1992:72) cites the original publication date as 1974 for this species and also for E. kerguelensis, but this must be a mistake. The printed date as used elsewhere is 1972, and a library copy seen of Averincev's work was accessioned in 1973. [details]

Type locality Shelf depths off Auckland Islands, -51.2167, 165.6167, 183 m [details]
