Diagnosis Test triserial, triangular in section, sides flattened; wall agglutinated, canaliculate, the canaliculi sealed externally to form pseudopores, and in Holocene species at least are sealed internally by the organic lining; aperture interiomarginal, at the junction of the chambers of the final whorl, a prominent flaplike tooth projecting from the midpoint of the apertural rim and bordered on each side by strong indentations of the chamber margin.
